Tell Lawmakers: Wisconsin Needs Cheaper Power, Not More Gas Plants
Bills are going up, but utilities are betting big on gas. We Energies plans to spend more than $5 billion on new gas plants to power Big Tech data centers. Its parent company made $1.6 billion in profit last year.
Clean energy is the cheaper choice. New wind and solar cost less and can be built faster. But big gas plants mean bigger profits for utilities, at your expense.
Families carry the risk. Gas plants run for 30 years or more. If data center demand never shows up, we pay for plants we don’t need.
Our Priorities for Wisconsin
- Clean energy first. It’s affordable, reliable, and ready to build.
- No new gas plants for data centers. They lock us into decades of volatile costs.
- Open the books. Families deserve to know who pays and who profits.
- Make Big Tech pay its own way. Data centers should cover their own power and grid costs.
